Description
The S7231 from Remington is called a wet 2 straight hair straightener for a good reason. Unlike most conventional straighteners that require you to hang your hair in front of a dryer before you can even begin to straighten it, this Remington lets you walk out of the shower and run the straightener right over your wet hair. It can do so because of its unique steam ventilation technique that safely removes water and spaces out your hair strands, making it easier for the straightener to do its job.
The ceramic plates on the S7231 are specially designed to heat up faster than conventional metal heating pads and are easier to run over your hair since they generate less friction than metal pads. Each of the two plates is 2” wide and can be heated up to 420°F, allowing for ultra fast hair drying and straightening. The easily accessible circular dial on the handle of this device lets you choose from 30 different heat levels, meaning that you can adjust the heat based on the wetness and sensitivity of your hair. In case you want to take it slow, or have very sensitive or damaged hair, you can choose a lower heat setting. If you are in a hurry for a meeting or want to dry your hair really quick, you can go all the way up to the full 420° of heat. Each of the steam vents on the back of this beauty is precision crafted to let steam escape from your wet hair as smoothly and quickly as possible so you can dry and straighten simultaneously.
The ceramic plates on a Remington S7231 are coated with a special soy hydra complex protein layer that nourishes and moisturizes your scalp and hair. This layer lasts for the entire lifetime of the hair straightener and leaves no residue behind on your hair or scalp. You will find that the S7231 is expertly constructed from high quality plastics, and is extremely ergonomically designed to fit comfortably in your grip. Even the power cord on this device is designed to swivel so that you can swing and move the straightener in all angles without worrying about the power cord getting in your way.

My first experience with this straightener was rather surprising as I never expected it to heat up so fast! I had just gotten out of the shower and decided to try it out on my dripping wet hair. I set the heat to high and ran it over my extra long hair…I was expecting to be covered in steam, but the vents on the top do a marvelous job of keeping the steam away from your body as long as you don’t accidentally point he vents towards your skin. I would happily recommend you to go ahead and buy one of these!
