Straight: Straight out of the Shower?
This Babyliss pro titanium hair straightener is a “wet to dry” model which means that you can skip blow drying and use it on damp (towel dried, NOT dripping wet) hair.
Personally, I don’t like the idea of using my straightener for drying as well as styling my hair. Sizzling it dry with an iron will be far more damaging than blowing it with a dryer. But I would still buy this Babyliss pro hair straightener for regular use.
It’s Still a Professional Flat Iron
Even though I’m a bit of a cynic when it comes to straightening damp hair, I still believe the babyliss pro titanium flat iron is a top professional flat iron. It’s way better than the cheaper Babyliss pro ceramic flat iron which is coated in porcelain and does not have the even heat or the negative ions that their titanium models boast.
The professional difference in the Babyliss titanium pro flat iron is in the material. The high quality, lightweight titanium plates are perfect for frizzy hair because titanium is the best known conductor of the negative ions straighteners use to neutralize static.
Another important material matter with this model is the housing which is made of Ryton. This high quality plastic does not heat up like other materials, meaning that the casing on the irons can be ultra thin and you can style with precision without burning your hand of your scalp!

Great for Barrel Curls
When I want to create beautiful rolling barrel curls for a wedding or prom do in my salon, I almost always reach for Babyliss. This company makes quite an extensive range of curling devices including the Babyliss pro miracurl and the Babyliss pro hot rollers but I really think that their flat iron is the best for larger curls.
Curling hair with babyliss pro straighteners is easy because of the super slim-line housing. You can easily flip a section of hair around the rounded handles and glide it down for the perfect barrel curl.

Watch out for Knock-offs!
I love babyliss pro flat irons and I use them in my salon. Especially for curling and hair ups. The main problem is not with the company itself but with the fact that the internet is literally crawling with cheap counterfeits of this brand. I still think their are real benefits to buying from auction sites because you can get much better prices than going through professional suppliers but you do have to be a bit careful.
The biggest problem is that, if your Babyliss pro hair straighteners are not genuine, you will not be able to access the manufacturer’s warranty. To check that you’re buying an authentic product you can contact the seller directly, contact Amazon or look carefully at the specs, features and appearance and compare them with the ones on the official babyliss pro website.

My Verdict: It’s Great when it’s Genuine
As long as you’re careful to buy a genuine babyliss titanium pro, I think it’s a great straightening iron and I give it a 4 out of 5 star rating. I’m not totally convinced that I’d use it for drying as well as straightening but it’s far better than the babyliss pro ceramic porcelain plates and it’s really handy when you want quick straightening or beautiful big barrel curls.
Last time I checked, the Babyliss pro price on Amazon.com was $134 but the price can vary quite dramatically and occasionally you can pick up some really great deals. Why not check if there’s a Babyliss pro sale on at the moment?
