Versatile
The days of flat irons being used to just straighten hair have long been over. We have now discovered different techniques to do many different styles using only one tool. I especially appreciate this while traveling, because I only need to pack one styling tool. But not all straighteners are able to provide easy curls or waves. Some flat irons really aren’t able to stand up to the competition and provide you with that versatility that the Solano flat iron does. That is why it is so important to take note of when I do find a good flat iron that can effortlessly create different styles!
The 1-inch model of the Sleek Heat 450 Solano Flat Iron offers this versatility to easily create multiple styles with one tool. Smooth and sleek hair can be achieved quickly with the Solano flat iron 1 inch, as well as flowing curls and beachy waves. The Solano Sleek Heat 450 also comes in a 1 ¼ inch model as well. This size, being larger, may be more difficult to form tighter waves and curls. Keep that in mind when choosing the size of your Solano flat iron. The versatility of this Solano flat iron does not stop at the styles you can achieve. It also allows you a wide range of heat settings. With heat settings ranging from 170 degrees Fahrenheit to 450 degrees Fahrenheit, this Solano flat iron is ideal for any hair type. Those with fine hair should use a lower heat setting than those with thicker hair. If you would like to learn more about how different heat settings and straighteners affect different hair types, more than just thin and thick, you can read my post for choosing the right flat iron for your hair type. This also allows you to control the temperature to protect your hair. This is always important when straightening your hair because you want it to look silky and healthy, not fried and dry. Being able to control the temperature is a great feature that this Solano hair straightener offers. Easy to Use
One of the biggest pros of this particular Solano flat iron, is how easy it is to use. Your hair is able to glide through without getting snagged or stuck. Some reviewers even compare the ease of using the Solano Sleek Heat 450 to straightening paper. The reason for the simplicity of use is due to the advanced design of the ceramic and tourmaline plates.
Ceramic and Tourmaline Plates
The plates on this Solano flat iron are beveled on all four sides. Beveled means to ease to a sloping edge. This design featured on both the Solano flat iron 1 inch and the 1 ¼ inch, allows the hair to glide through the plates effortlessly. This is why I often look for this type of plate design on the hair tools that I purchase. The beveled edges are also why it is so easy to achieve different hairstyles with the Solano flat iron.
This Solano flat iron also features another design “extra” for your safety. The ceramic and tourmaline plates have “cool touch tip”. This is meant to make handling the flat iron safer and more comfortable. Something I really appreciated when trying out this Solano hair straightener. It is never fun when you burn your hand while trying to do your hair.
The ceramic and tourmaline plates on Solano flat iron also produce far infrared heat that heats the hair from within the cuticle. This special technique of heating the hair aids in keeping your hair healthy and may help improve the overall health of your hair. This Solano flat iron also produces negative ions that help to seal in moisture and minimize static electricity. This will leave you with smooth, shiny, and frizz free hair while using your Solano Sleek Heat 450.
Each plate delivers an even amount of heat throughout the entire surface. This allows each section of hair that passes through this Solano flat iron to receive the same amount of heat, giving you more control and speeding up the amount of time you spend styling your hair. This also helps to protect your hair from any “hot spots” found on the plates. These hot spots, that some other irons produce, may cause creasing or damage to the sections of hair that you are styling. The even distribution of heat that the Solano straightener produces means that you need less passes to go over each section of hair.
What You Might Be Missing On Solano Flat Iron
Now we have talked about all the great stuff that this Solano flat iron does, but there are some cons. A lot of reviewers have said that they wish that the iron would heat up faster. This Solano flat iron takes 60 seconds to fully heat up and although this is quick, other models are able to heat up faster. One model we would recommend that heats up quickly is the BabyBlissPro Porcelain Ceramic Straightening Iron.
You may also be missing out on an auto-off function. This is something that is usually standard on flat irons that are in this price range. Although it has nothing to do with how well it works. It really is a nice extra, especially for those of us that are forgetful or have a bit of anxiety. If this a feature that you really need in a straightener, maybe you should consider the Isa Professional Flat Iron instead of the Solano Sleek Heat 450.
Another thing you may be missing with this iron is a digital reader to tell you the temperature. Again, this feature is just an extra, but for the price I think they could have included it. There are many different flat irons on the market that have a digital reader, including the Kipozi Nano 1-inch Titanium Flat Iron. Read my latest review for Kipozi flat iron now.
The Solano Sleekheat 450 is a great flat iron to add to your haircare collection. It will help you achieve professional results at home, while still being very user friendly. Although the Solano flat iron 1 inch and 1 ¼ inch does not come with all of the bells and whistles, it still has the key features needed to be an awesome tool! What do you think? Will you add this Solano flat iron to your collection?
